Facebook is turning around its January restriction on cryptocurrency ads.
However advertisers should be pre-approved and ads related to binary options are still tobe banned, the organization declared in a blog entry.
Facebook’s ban was deliberately broad at a time when cryptocurrencies as bitcoin were thriving and the largely unregulated space was full of high-profile scams. Bitcoin as recently fell beneath $6,000, down from a high of almost $20,000 in December 2017.
Following Facebook’s lead, Twitter and Google all established similar prohibitions at the beginning of this year.
Facebook’s first strategy, went for every single “financial services and products frequently associated with misleading promotional practices,” halted even legitimate organizations from purchasing ads.
However, now, interested advertisers are able to fill out an application that includes data on whether their currency is publicly traded and licensing to help Facebook determine their eligibility.
Facebook is turning around its prohibition on digital currency notices and will now permit some preapproved advertisers to advance crypto organizations and services, similar to trades.
